Garima Capital Launches ‘Garima Suwarna Yojana’ Open-Ended Mutual Fund for Public Investment

Kathmandu: Garima Capital Limited has officially opened the public subscription for its new open-ended mutual fund scheme, Garima Suwarna Yojana, offering a fresh investment opportunity for both retail and institutional investors in Nepal.

The subscription began on Falgun 28, 2082, with units priced at a par value of Rs. 10 each. The scheme aims to provide investors with long-term capital appreciation through a diversified portfolio managed by professional fund managers.

According to the scheme details, the total issuance consists of 100 million units. Out of this, 6 million units are reserved for the scheme manager, Garima Capital Limited, while 9 million units are allocated to the fund sponsor, Garima Bikas Bank Limited. The remaining 35 million units are available for public subscription in the first phase.

The fund plans to invest across multiple sectors such as banking, hydropower, manufacturing, and government securities to ensure balanced risk and growth potential.

Unlike traditional closed-ended funds, the Garima Suwarna Yojana operates as an open-ended scheme, allowing investors to buy or redeem units directly based on the prevailing Net Asset Value (NAV). This structure provides greater liquidity and flexibility for investors.

The subscription window will remain open from Falgun 28, 2082, with the earliest closing date set for Chaitra 2, 2082, and the final closing date set for Chaitra 12, 2082, unless the units are fully subscribed earlier.

Investors can apply with a minimum of 100 units (Rs. 1,000) and a maximum of 5,000,000 units, making the scheme accessible to both small investors and large institutional participants.

Applications can be submitted through C-ASBA services provided by banks and financial institutions or through the MeroShare platform operated by Central Depository System and Clearing Limited, allowing investors to apply digitally without visiting a bank branch.

Market observers note that the introduction of the Garima Suwarna Yojana further strengthens Nepal’s expanding mutual fund industry and provides investors with a professionally managed and diversified investment option in the country’s capital market.
