Election Results Boost Market Sentiment, NEPSE Hits 2,848 Points


Kathmandu: The morale of investors in the stock market has increased significantly after the results of the House of Representatives election-2082. The NEPSE index has entered a second consecutive circuit with a sharp jump in the market that opened on Monday as expectations of political stability increased due to the election results.

On Monday, the NEPSE index rose by 4 percent within a minute of the market opening, causing the first circuit break, and trading was suspended for 20 minutes. After that, the market continued to rise at the same pace when it reopened, and rose another 1 percentage point within a minute, reaching a total of 5 percent, before trading was halted for 40 minutes, causing the second circuit break.

The NEPSE index rose by 5 percent, or 135.72 points, to 2,848.22 points in the market that opened after the first circuit. Now, in the market that opens after 40 minutes, if the NEPSE increases by another 1 percentage point, or a total of 6 percent, trading will be completely closed for Monday.
